The annual Lewis County "Blue Ribbon" Picnic and Desert Auction was held on Monday, August 4th, at the Bolender Horse Park in Silver Creek. The special guest of honor this year was GOP gubenatorial candidate, Dino Rossi. Approximately 225 people came out to hear and meet Dino, and to enjoy the festivities.
Other GOP candidates who were in attendance included: Allan Martin, candidate for State Treasurer; Michael Delevar and Christine Webb, both candidates for U.S. Congress in the 3rd Congressional District; Dan Swecker and Neal Kirby, both candidates for the State Senate, 20th District; Lewis County Commissioner candidates Ron Averill, Lyle Hojem, Bill Schulte and John Penberth; and Jefferey Kennedy who is a candidate for Lewis County PUD, Commissioner District 1.
John Penberth also served as the auctioneer for the desert auction.
