Mission Statement Lewis County Republican Party
It is the goal and purpose of the Lewis County Republican Party to help recruit, encourage, support and elect Republican candidates to county, state and national offices. We seek to achieve this goal by the collective commitment of our time, talents and resources.
We also seek to advance Republican ideals as espoused in the Washington State Republican Party platform, for the protection and benefit of the citizens of our nation, our state and our communities.
All of this activity is guided and directed by our rules and bylaws as adopted by the Lewis County Republican Central Committee and the Washington State Republican Party.
Greetings from the Lewis County Republican Central Committee Chairman
On behalf of the Lewis County Republican Central Committee, I welcome you to our Website.
The Lewis County Republican Central Committee is an affiliate of the Washington State Republican Party. It has two principal objectives:
- Elect Republicans to Public Office
- Attract voters and workers to the Republican Party
The Central Committee consists of elected and appointed Republican Precinct Committee Officers (PCOs) serving in the 83 voting Precincts in Lewis County. PCOs must be registered voters and live in the Precinct in which they serve.
PCOs truly represent the grassroots of the Republican Party; not only in Lewis County, but also across the State and Nation and comprise the voting membership of the Lewis County Central Committee.
PCOs are elected during the Primary Election held every even numbered year, or they can be appointed to fill Vacant Positions by the Chairman of the Central Committee. Both elected and appointed PCOs serve in the same manner, with the same rights and responsibilities.
At a Central Committee membership meeting held at the beginning of every odd numbered year, the PCOs elect the Lewis County Central Committee’s Executive Board. The Executive Board is responsible for carrying out the day-to-day operations and activities of the Central Committee and managing its’ programs and finances. The elected members of the Executive Board are: Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, State Committeeman and State Committeewoman. The Chair, the State Committeeman and State Committeewoman also become members of the Washington Republican State Committee.
PCOs work within their Precincts, identifying Republican voters, and rallying those voters to vote in upcoming elections. During even numbered election years they serve as Chair of their Precinct Caucuses.
The success of the Republican Party, in Lewis County, is solely dependent upon the hard work of the many grassroots volunteers who give of their time and resources to help elect Republicans to public office. Volunteers are always welcome to help with the ongoing business of the Central Committee, not only during campaigns, but also between elections.
